Our #MCM of The Week Nyle DiMarco at the 2016 HRC National Dinner

Honeyyy, if you don’t know who Nyle DiMarco is, let us be the FIRST to introduce you to our handsome #MCM! He’s the raining America’s Next Top Model and Dancing With The Stars champion with the rock hard abs and beautiful smile to match!  However, that’s not what got our attention (but girl, lets be real – it helped!).  What really made us go WOW, was the amazing speech he gave at the 2016 HRC National Dinner.

Nyle starts his speech with a joke saying: “Ever since I appeared on Dancing With The Stars, I’m always scared that you’re going to expect fast feet and jazz hands or something.”  He then goes into the question he’s frequently asked, which is: What are some of the hardships you go through being a deaf man in America? He answers profoundly saying; “I don’t find not being able to hear as a hardship or disadvantage. It’s actually an advantage and a huge part of who I am!”
He also shares one of my passions, which is being his true self! While inspiring young people who are struggling with thier identity, he also encourages them to love themseleves for who they are. He says, “As a sexually fluid deaf man, diversity is what colors our world. And for all LGBTQ Americans, we know from experiance that labels can’t hold us back! And we have the power to change the world one person at a time.”
Well Nyle, I couldn’t agree with you more! And I’ll add to that and leave you guys with this: “Be who you are, because those who matter dont mind and those who mind don’t matter!”
Check out the rest of his great speech below:

Until next time!

xoxo

Supreme Court allows transgender military ban as the legal battle continues

Today, the Supreme Court of the United States has allowed President Donald Trump’s transgender military ban to go into effect; a ban that is both cruel and irrational to our community.

The policy was first announced by President Trump in July 2017 via Twitter. Since, the ban has faced legal battles in lower courts, resulting in nationwide injunctions prohibiting its implementation. SCOTUS’s decision today allows the ban to go into effect while the court decides whether to consider the merits of the case.
