Openly Gay Will & Grace Actor Honored at the OutFest Legacy Awards

So, we all know Sean Hayes as “Just Jack” from the hit tv series Will & Grace. Well, this past weekend, he was recently honoured as an “LGBT trailblazer” at the Outfest Legacy Awards!

Just Jack” (only the REAL Will & Grace fans actually call him that) has been one of the most loved and adored characters in gay televison, alongside Will (also in the show), the cast of Queer as Folk, and Kurt Hummel from Glee.

In Hayes acceptence speech, he says; “I was a young closeted gay actor having his first taste of a little success and unfortunately, in my mind, my lucky break was inextricably tied to me thinking that I had to stay in the closet in order to keep moving forward.”

“When it comes to nights like tonight and honours like this, I’m consumed with what I didn’t do.”

“I know I should have come out sooner and I’m sorry for that.  Especially when I think about the possibility that I might have made a difference in someone’s life.”

“I would probably be able to sleep a lot better than I do if I had came out sooner, but such is life.  We learn our lessons only when we are ready.”

Well, Sean, little do you know you have made a major impact on a lot of members of the LGBT community. Your character showed people to never be afraid to be themselves, live out loud, and most importantly: to never be scared to laugh at yourself.

Sean Hayes and the rest of the cast of Will & Grace recently came back together for a Will & Grace Special.  Check out the the full video of his speech below!

Until next time!

xoxo

Supreme Court allows transgender military ban as the legal battle continues

Today, the Supreme Court of the United States has allowed President Donald Trump’s transgender military ban to go into effect; a ban that is both cruel and irrational to our community.

The policy was first announced by President Trump in July 2017 via Twitter. Since, the ban has faced legal battles in lower courts, resulting in nationwide injunctions prohibiting its implementation. SCOTUS’s decision today allows the ban to go into effect while the court decides whether to consider the merits of the case.
